The
Hotel @ Tharabar Gate is ideally located right in front of the legendary
Gate of this 10th century City and only remaining Gate,
Old Bagan.
The name Tharabar came from the Pali term ’Sarabahanga’ meaning "Shield
against Arrows". The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate opened its doors in early 2002
and features traditional Bagan style red brick wall structures and teak
wood interior as well as modern facilities.
The Hotel @ Tharabar Gate has 86 rooms (including Superior, Deluxe and 4
Suite Rooms) which are equipped with built in Myanmar traditional interior
design. Each Room with its high ceiling and different hand painted wall
painting which are all copies of original Temple Paintings of the Bagan
Period. All rooms have IDD Phone, Mini Bar, Hair Dryer, Air-Condition,
Satellite TV and their own private Patio in Deluxe and Suite Rooms.
