Red Cross Society and DPS

This is the story of ICRC and DPS.

It began with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a beacon of hope for those affected by conflict and violence worldwide. With a mandate rooted in the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the ICRC's mission is to provide assistance and protection to victims of war, guided by principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence.

In their quest to provide aid efficiently, the Red Cross sought a partner capable of providing precise, up-to-date maps. Enter DPS, a leading mapping service in Myanmar, specializing in digital maps from State and Region to Village levels. Their expertise caught the Red Cross's eye, leading to a collaboration that would enhance their aid efforts significantly.

DPS's maps became invaluable to the Red Cross. They used them to plot their Emergency Operation Centers (EOCs), marked with the iconic Red Cross sign on the district maps of Chin State, Kaya State, Shan State, Mon State, Tanintharyi Region, Bago Region, and Mandalay Region. These precise plots ensured that aid and resources could be mobilized swiftly to areas in need, optimizing the Red Cross's response efforts.

Through this collaboration, DPS became more than just a mapping service; they became partners in the Red Cross's mission. By providing accurate, detailed maps, DPS enabled the Red Cross to navigate complex terrains, both physical and administrative, with ease.

As the Red Cross continues its noble work worldwide, DPS stands as a steadfast partner, providing the maps that guide their aid efforts. Together, they forge paths of hope and support in the most challenging of circumstances.
